1. Schedule your appointment on our website, or you can simply call us if you prefer.

2. Upload your lab order from your doctor, if you have one. For specialty kits, be sure to open the box and read the shipping instruction. Many mail-out kits have a pouch that needs to be frozen prior to sending. if yours does, follow the instructions on the directive listed.

3. We come to your desires location, draw your lab specimens, complete any paperwork, and answer any questions you may have.

4. Your technician will process any specimens that need to be put in a centrifuge for the removal of aliquot specimens, and prepare your order for transport to the lab.

5. Your specimens will be safely transferred to the testing facility based on your insurance provider.

6. The testing facility will run your specimens, and your test results will be forwarded to the ordering physician as soon as they are done. Typically that happens in 24 to 48 hours, however some tests may take longer.

7. should you owe any co-pay or deductible to the laboratory, they will bill you directly. HLS fees are unable to be billed to the insurance companies at this time, and our fees are separate from any testing lab fees.

At HouseCall Lab Solutions, we keep pricing fair and transparent! Our in-home blood draws  ar just $49.75—that’s 38.5% less than Quest Diagnostics’s $79.99 for the exact same service! While Quest hikes up prices and still bills your insurance for testing, we give you top-notch care at a much better rate. And guess what? We still take your samples to Quest or LabCorp for the testing!

Insurance Info You Need to Know!

Right now, many insurance companies refuse to pay a venipuncture fee for at-home blood draws, and Medicare pays only $8.83, and ONLY if you’re considered a “Homebound” patient. HLS is the ONLY mobile phlebotomy company that accepts Medicare as a partial payment for those who are considered “Homebound“. We will deduct the $8.83 from our fee, and we will subsequently bill Medicare for the venipuncture. The balance of our fee, $40.92 will be paid in full by the client, prior to the day of the appointment for the blood draw.

Typically, same day appointments are available. Pediatric appointments will often be 1-2 days out, depending on the number of appointments already booked for our pediatric technicians at the time of your call.

Fasting blood work depends on what tests are being ordered. After you forward your lab test requisition to us, HLS will review the tests and provide you with the fasting requirement… if any! 

Most fasting tests require at least a 4 hour fast, however there are some specific, but less known tests, that might require a 12 hour fasting time (ex: Vitamin A, B6, C, E,  B-type natriuretic peptide, fasting glucose, etc).
